Kristine is currently taking applications for provisional psychologists who are looking for a supervisor that specializes in perinatal mental health.
In order to be considered for supervision, the following criteria must be met:
Applicants must have already completed the Postpartum Support International course 'Introductory components of care'
Applicants must have experience with the perinatal population, either through direct work in previous occupations or volunteer work, or having completed their dissertation, thesis or capstone project on the perinatal population.
Early in the supervision process, the applicant must be willing to complete training in trauma processing therapy (such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy), and additional training in perinatal mental health subspecialties such as loss/grief, OCD, trauma, etc.
Postpartum Support International's Perinatal Mental Health Certified designation is critical for any individual wanting to demonstrate competence working with the perinatal population. It is expected of the applicant that during the supervision process they will be working towards their PMH-C designation.
